The
skin is the largest organ of the body. It protects us, cools us,
breathes, detoxifies us, and it is usually the last organ we think
to brush. By brushing the skin we can aid several systems of the
body.
The skin acts as a barrier, but also responds to other organ
systems. By brushing the skin we can trigger effects in those
organ systems. Brushing the skin with a dry brush can trigger
circulation, skin detoxification, and lymphatic movement.
It
can also feel like a massage. Start with small circular motion
and then rub in one direction as if guiding something. It is also
important to brush the areas related to the lymph. Under the arms,
inner thigh, and gut areas are important to help the body circulate
some of the toxins stored. This is especially important if you
sit most of the day. |
